Distinguished Young Women of Greater Baltimore

Meet the Director - Elizabeth Borowsky

ELIZABETH BOROWSKY has achieved international recognition as an outstanding musician of her generation. As pianist, she has performed recitals and concerts in distinguished venues throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, including Carnegie Hall, Strathmore Hall, and the Kennedy Center. She is featured on four commercially-released CD recordings and two DVDs (ICRecords). She has received numerous awards and  honors for her musical and academic achievements, including the Merit Award from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, the U.S. Chopin Foundation Scholarship, Kosciuszko Foundation Graduate Scholarship, and the William Donald Schaefer Scholarship. Elizabeth attended Towson University on a full scholarship, graduating summa cum laude, during which she also studied at Trinity College of Music (London). She received her Master's Degree from Indiana University, where she was granted a full teaching assistantship. She hails from a unique musical family: they perform together around the world. In 2008 they were invited to perform Pre-Olympic concerts in China under the theme "One World, One Dream, One Family." Her enthusiasm for music and people is clearly visible both on- and off- the concert stage. Elizabeth enjoys sharing her musical experiences with young people, and is in demand as a teacher and clinician. She has given masterclasses in Europe, Asia, and North America, is on the faculty of the Maryland Conservatory of Music and ARTIST Music, and is the Associate Director of International Music Institute and Festival USA. Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family, friends, dog (Max), and cat (Min). She was honored to hold the title of Distinguished Young Woman of Maryland 2001.
